Conscious Tabs

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2 July 2026

Conscious Tabs is a browser extension that helps you find, organise, and close your open tabs from the browser side panel. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

The short version. Conscious Tabs runs entirely on your own device. It does not collect, store on any server, transmit, share, or sell your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, no cookies, and no remote servers. Your tabs never leave your browser.

What the extension accesses

To show and manage your tabs, Conscious Tabs reads information that your browser already holds about your open tabs and tab groups — such as tab titles, URLs, favicons, and whether a tab is playing audio, pinned, or active. This information is used only to render the side-panel interface and to carry out the actions you ask for. It is held in memory while the panel is open and is not written to any storage or sent anywhere.

Permissions and why they are needed

What we do not do

Data retention

Conscious Tabs stores no data of its own. Nothing is retained after you close the side panel, beyond the tab and session state that your browser maintains independently of this extension.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a revised effective date.
